Scaling National cApacity for Plastic Upcycling (SNAP-Up)
SNAP-Up is a national initiative by Green Growth Africa designed to turn Nigeria’s plastic waste challenge into an opportunity for sustainable development. By promoting plastic-bottle construction, strengthening waste recovery systems, and developing green building skills, the project creates a practical pathway toward affordable housing, environmental restoration, and economic empowerment.

Plastic waste is recovered through collection hubs, connected through a digital platform, and trans formed into durable building materials. At the same time, young people receive hands-on training to develop skills and businesses within the green construction sector.
Proven Success
SNAP-Up builds on Green Growth Africa’s successful delivery of Nigeria’s first ultra-modern plastic-bottle building in 2023. The project demonstrated that waste plastic can be transformed into safe, durable, and attractive structures while reducing environmental pollution and creating economic opportunities.
The Flagship Project
Through SNAP-Up, Green Growth Africa is leading the construction of an ultramodern duplex using approximately 200,000 waste plastic bottles. The project serves as both a sustainable housing solution and a live training ground where young people gain practical experience in plastic-bottle construction.
